Browse LaGrange People Directories

LaGrange people directories do not live in one citywide database. A useful search may pass through a county office list, a school or college roster, a property-owner index, or a historic volume. Official directories serving LaGrange, Georgia, identify people by public role, workplace, recorded property interest, license, business connection, or past address. Browse LaGrange directories with the kind of connection in mind, then check the named keeper when an online entry is absent. Current lists tend to show work contacts, while older books and archives can connect a name to a street, household, school, church, or business.

LaGrange Directory Coverage at a Glance

Start with the directory that reflects why a name would appear. Government lists identify offices and public roles. Education lists show current work contacts. Property and deed indexes identify owners and transaction parties, while license and corporation searches connect names to a credential or filed business role. Historical people directories are best for a former resident or an old address.

LaGrange Government Contact Directories

The City of LaGrange publishes department contacts, not a verified citywide employee-name search. City Hall is the general route at 706-883-2000. The City Manager and City Clerk line is 706-883-2010. Municipal Court, Business License and Permits, Code Enforcement, Public Works, police, and fire each have direct numbers in the city contact material. That role-based list helps when a title or function is known but a staff name is not.

The Troup County departmental directory is also office-first. It displays the department, phone, fax, address, and map link. It routes searchers to county offices without a login.

County directory fieldHow it helps
DepartmentFinds the office that holds the role or record
Phone and faxProvides a direct request or verification channel
Address and suiteSeparates offices within the Ridley Avenue complex
MapConfirms the listed public office location

When the city list omits a name, call the department and ask for the current role holder. For an existing roster, use the agency’s records channel. The broader process appears under LaGrange public records.

The official Georgia organization directory offers another agency-first route:

Use its agency contact as the fallback when a local page does not identify the current role holder.

State Staff Directories From LaGrange

Team Georgia works as an agency and employee directory rather than a resident list. Its cards show an agency name, website, main phone, and address. Expanded entries can show an employee name, title, email, phone, division, and agency. Public browsing does not require the manager login.

Name, title, work email, work phone, agency, and division when supplied.

When cards hide staff subdivisions, select agencies in print view and choose “Expand All.” If the contact remains absent, call 1-800-GEORGIA.

The official Team Georgia screen shows how agency and employee entries are grouped:

Confirm each work contact in the live directory because assignments can change.

Directory tip: Search the agency before the person. State entries are grouped by organization, and the print view can expose contacts that a card does not.

LaGrange School and College Directories

The Troup County School System staff directory is the main current school route, while school and program pages supply smaller staff lists. Confirmed TCSS entries show a full name, role abbreviation, district email, and assigned school. Social-worker pages may also show assigned schools and a school phone or extension. These are work directories; private staff data and protected student records are not part of the public entries.

West Georgia Technical College’s LaGrange roster is an alphabetical table. Entries show name, title, office phone, and email for current faculty and staff. It does not list alumni or students.

The official WGTC directory shows how those public work entries are arranged.

Its role and office fields help distinguish people with similar names before using the published work contact.

LaGrange College also maintains a faculty and staff directory, though its exact search controls were not verified in the research capture. Use the college directory first, then contact the institution for a current department listing or ask its Lewis Library and Suber Archives about older college ties.

LaGrange Property Owner Directories

The Troup property search turns the appraisal roll into an owner directory. Call the assessor at 706-883-1625 if qPublic fails. A parcel is a mapped land unit. The situs address is its physical location; a tax mailing address does not prove occupancy.

County GIS adds parcel geography, roads, address ranges, aerial images, and district context. Address authority is split by jurisdiction: Troup County assigns addresses in unincorporated areas, while LaGrange city work remains within the city relationship. The property tax system at Troup Tax Commissioner is separate from appraisal and mapping.

Use the current owner record as an index, not final proof. For a prior owner, carry the parcel or legal description into the deed index. If online detail is missing, call the assessor, GIS office, Tax Commissioner, or the court clerk that keeps the source record.

LaGrange Deed Name Directories

The Troup County Clerk of Superior and State Courts records deeds, mortgages, charters, and notaries. Georgia has no separate Troup “register of deeds.” The GSCCCA search hub provides statewide real-estate, lien, and plat routes, so recorded party names act as a long-running directory of land transactions.

A grantor transfers an interest; a grantee receives it. Search both roles and spelling variants. Book and page references point to the recorded instrument. An index entry shows that a person was connected to a filing, but it does not prove a current home address or replace the deed image.

Account or payment conditions may limit images, and an unrestricted official page did not state the exact online start year for Troup County. The full fallback is the Real Estate Division at 706-883-1740, press 1, or an in-person inquiry at 100 Ridley Avenue, Suite 1600. Ask with the party name, approximate year, instrument type, and book/page if known.

LaGrange License and Business Directories

The Georgia professional license search accepts profession, license type, name, and license number. Fields are optional, and a trailing asterisk supports a partial name. Results may show the name, credential, number, status, dates, and discipline links.

Lawyers use the separate State Bar member directory. Teachers use Georgia educator certification, and physicians use the medical board’s tools. These focused directories are more reliable than assuming every credential sits in the Secretary of State’s multi-board search.

The Georgia business search accepts a business name, control number, registered agent, officer, or designated agent. Results connect people to filed business roles and addresses, not necessarily to a residence. Local trade names are generally filed with the Troup Superior Court clerk, while LaGrange business-license files remain a city matter. Call Business License and Permits when no public register is available.

Historical LaGrange People Directories

Historical LaGrange people directories have two firm anchors. A 219-page May 1929 volume titled Colored: city directory of LaGrange, Georgia; Troup County, Georgia is cataloged by the FamilySearch Library and links to a digital version. Its subject indexing makes it a distinct path to Black residents who may be hard to locate in other published lists. The Digital Library of Georgia also catalogs a 1945 souvenir LaGrange phone book with business advertisements.

Digital Library of Georgia1945Phone listings and business ads
Troup County Archives1942, 1946, 1948 cited in historic documentationCity-directory volumes and related local files

A city directory is arranged by name. A reverse or criss-cross directory begins with an address or telephone number. Ask archives or library staff for those exact terms, since a simple title search for “city directory” can miss address-to-occupant volumes. A complete local year run and the years with reverse sections were not verified, so confirm the title and year before relying on coverage.

LaGrange Archive Directory Search

The Troup County Archives collection brings county government, court, City Clerk, and education records into one research setting. The Digital Library of Georgia search supports full text plus creator, subject, people, location, holding-institution, and format facets. Alternate place terms matter. Older material may use “La Grange,” and probate-era records may be filed under “Court of Ordinary.”

The archive collection page gives a visual entry to those record groups.

From there, a name can be narrowed to city minutes, court files, marriage records, naturalizations, photos, newspapers, or education holdings.

  1. Search the name and spelling variants in DLG full text.
  2. Filter by LaGrange, Troup County, creator, or named person.
  3. Check the 1929 directory and 1945 phone book near the target year.
  4. Contact Troup County Archives at 136 Main Street or 706-884-1828 for undigitized material.

Georgia Archives microfilm cards are another fallback. A courthouse disaster note does not prove all records vanished.

LaGrange Community Directory Limits

No authoritative current residential white-pages directory operated by LaGrange, Troup County, or Georgia was located. Government phone books list offices and public workers, not all residents. The LaGrange-Troup Chamber directory lists member organizations and public business contacts, while public board pages may identify civic leaders.

Cemetery, church, newspaper, and community material can still extend a historical search. The City Public Works Cemetery Division can be reached at 706-883-2100, but no official public interment-name search was verified. Ask the division or Troup County Archives about burial and lot records. Newspapers, obituaries, school books, and organizational collections may connect a person to a family or place.

Private congregation, alumni, neighborhood, union, club, and family rosters should not be treated as open people directories. A public officer page proves only the listed role. If a lawful search depends on a private roster, contact its keeper and respect its access rules rather than treating absence as evidence.

Use directory data lawfully: A published work contact, property link, or old address does not permit harassment, threats, impersonation, or repeated unwanted contact.
